Meet Paul & Cyndi
Paul & Cyndi Snegirev
Boones Ferry Berry FarmBoones Ferry Berry Farm is nestled in the Willamette Valley near Hubbard, Oregon. In 1989, Paul and Cyndi Snegirev purchased 10 acres of land to start their farm and have built it piece by piece through the years to the 110 acres it comprises today. They planted their first Oregon strawberries in 1990 and have been committed strawberry farmers ever since. In addition to Hood and Sweet Ann strawberry varieties, they also grow blueberries, marionberries, raspberries, loganberries, and boysenberries.
As they acquired more land, and planted more berry crops, the farm staff expanded to include a second generation of their family – sons Myron and Naum and daughter-in-law Inafa. The best place to buy Boones Ferry Berry Farm fruit is through their farm store on site, which offers fresh picked berries, frozen berries, and access to their U-Pick fields. Other options: they participate in 5 farmer’s markets per season, and supply berries to select New Seasons Market stores, as well as the 4 Bales Thriftways locations. Any berries that are not sold fresh are taken to a processing plant to be frozen, or to a cannery to be preserved, so they can be enjoyed year-round.
The best thing about being Oregon strawberry farmers for Paul and Cyndi? Eating the sweet, delicious berries, and talking with their happy, berry loving customers at the farm store. When Paul is not tending the berry fields, he can be found on hunting expeditions – he recently landed an antelope. Cyndi also loves the outdoors and enjoys scenic walks at nearby Mount Angel Abbey, flowers, and being a mom.
