Puget Crimson are medium to large sized berries, dark red in color with excellent flavor that is well balanced between sweet and tart. While they can be frozen when harvested, they are primarily enjoyed fresh in late June or early July. Introduced in 2011, and bred from a cross of Puget Summer and Valley Red, Puget Crimson was developed and jointly released by Washington State University, Oregon State University, and the US Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Research Service.
